Bendix Street is a £30 million, 12-storey build-to-rent development on Oldham Road, marking a key milestone in the regeneration of Manchester’s New Cross area. Bordering the Ancoats Conservation Area, and the Northern Quarter, this modern residential scheme enhances a historically rich and vibrant part of the city.
Completed in Autumn 2024, the development features 161 high-quality apartments, ranging from one to three bedrooms, alongside communal lounges, a rooftop terrace, and ground-floor amenities. As a key gateway into the city from the north, Bendix Street contributes to the evolving urban landscape, offering contemporary living in a culturally dynamic neighbourhood.
Project ff&e was appointed by GMI to design, supply and install kitchens, including all units, worktops, sinks, taps and appliances in all 161 apartments.
The design creates a sophisticated, modern minimalist space with a strong emphasis on clean lines, neutral tones, and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Characterised by sleek, handleless cabinetry in muted matt grey tones and complemented by a compact laminate backsplash and worktop, with warm under-cabinet lighting, depth and dimension are enhanced. The integration of natural materials, soft lighting, and a neutral colour palette ensures a contemporary yet cosy ambiance, ideal for both everyday living and entertaining.
To complement the sleek and modern aesthetic, high-quality Bosch and Indesit appliances were seamlessly integrated into the design. This included single ovens, induction hobs, fridge freezers, washer-dryers, and dishwashers, ensuring the space was not only visually striking but also highly functional for everyday living.
